A hedge (живаяизгородь) separates the garden from the pavement. On the left, there is a small gate(ворота) and a path (дорожка) which leads to the front door. On both sides of the path, there are narrow flowerbeds (клумбы) containing plants and small bushes. On the right, there is a small square lawn (лужайка).

Mike’s house has two storeys (этажа). There is one large window on the ground floor on the right hand side. On the left there is a small porch (крыльцо).

There are two smaller windows on the first floor. Mike has put his satellite dish (спутниковаяантенна) between the two windows. A gutter (водосточныйжёлоб)runs around the house at the bottom of the roof. This collects the water which falls on the roof. A drainpipe(дренажнаятруба)on the left carries the water down to the ground. The chimney (дымоваятруба) is on the right hand side of the roof. There is a TV aerial (антенна) attached to the chimney.
