What do you think are the most important personal qualities for someone who works in the health profession?
First of all, I want to say that this kind of work is very difficult, and this person must be very patient, calm and authoritative. What is more, this kind of work involve working with people, so his person must be sociable, open-minded and diplomatic. Moreover, this kind of work imply that someone who works in health profession must be very knowledgeable and objective.
Soon, medical advances will allow people to live to a very old age. Is this desirable? Why? / Why not?
I agree with this suggestion because nowadays people have made a big progress in medicine sphere. They can heal such fatal illnesses as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and etc. And I suppose that people have made significant contribution in medicine sphere. This question is controversial, but I can say with confidence that we don’t need to worry about our lives.
Think of two medical inventions that you think are very important.
For me the first important medical invention is painkillers, especially anesthesia. Anesthesia is a way of preventing patients from feeling pain during surgery. This achievement was the key factor in the development of modern surgery. The second important medical invention is aspirin. It is one of the most effective painkillers in the world. Aspirin is also effective against many serious diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and arthritis.
Should people pay for healthcare?
It is controversial question. On the one hand, people don’t need to worry about how they should pay for making their health better. On the other hand, to succeed in medicine people who work in health profession need to earn so much money to develop their hospitals (for example). And in Russia national insurance is so bad and government hospitals are dreadful. So I prefer to go in chargeable health clinics which specialize in high service.
What do you hope for your country, in terms of health care and society? Discuss your hopes for the next fifty years.
I hope that Russian medicine will make big breakthrough in the next fifty years. I hope that people who work in medicine sphere in government clinics will be more sociable, kind, patient and diplomatic. I hope that national insurance will become better are people will care for someone who really need their help.
