Introduction

Graduation projects are one of the most important learning activities and represent a scientific study of university students on one of the selected independently or offered to him on the specialty by the head or discipline program.

The graduation project is a written work that is performed at the final stage of training, if required by SES and the curriculum program.

The graduation project is carried out under the guidance of the supervisor, who is appointed among professors, associate professors, most experienced teachers and researchers. Supervisors may also be assigned to researchers and highly qualified specialists of other institutions, companies, firms, as well as the highly qualified teachers of not graduate departments. Perhaps co-guidance of graduation project by a young teacher with a more experienced.

The subjects of graduation projects should be relevant, corresponds to the current state and prospects of development of science, technology, agriculture, culture, its content must meet one of the following requirements:

- Generalization of the results of research, design solutions, conducted by scientists, practitioners, engineers, designers;

- Contain scientifically based theoretical conclusions of investigated object;

- Contain scientifically based results, the use of which provides a solution to a particular problem.

The subject of graduation projects is developed by the graduate departments that make up the list of themes approved by the Faculty Council. The list of themes is renewed annually not less than 30%.

Students are given the right to choose the theme of the approved subjects. Student has to offer and its theme. In this case, he gives to the chair a detailed rationale for the development of the proposed theme or a letter of an outside organization to perform a registered theme. Students of distance learning are allowed to choose a theme according to operational needs.

Subject of the graduation projects, as a rule, is a continuation of the theme of research work conducted during the making of term papers (projects). It should not be too large; as such works are superficial and small independent, while the small theme is studied in greater depth and detail. Themes of projects must be individual for each student is not allowed to select one and the same theme for  two students. Wording of the theme can be the same only if the investigation objects is different.

To plan teachers work, as well as collecting material for the graduation project in the summer practice and securing full-time students for the diploma project and the choice of the theme is carried out in the late graduation course and students of correspondence courses - at the last examination session. Graduate Departments can hold meetings of students with potential supervisers of the graduation project (teachers graduating and other departments, who are experts in the field of this specialty / subject studies).

Students write an application addressed to the head of the department, in accord-dance with which the Dean shall issue an order of consolidation and the supervisors of the graduation project for students.

The final consolidation of the graduation projects for  the full-time students- is carried out at the beginning of final year (before October 1), for studying at the correspondence courses - at the end of the first final examinations session and approved by the Rector's order.

The theme of the graduation project, if necessary, can be changed, updated, corrected on the proposal of the graduate department no later than 2 weeks before the defense of the project.

The theme of the course work (project), scientific supervisor approves at the meeting of the department.

Reviewers of the graduation projects approved by order of the rector of one list to submit the heads of graduate departments  indicating the place of work and position among manufacturing experts and scientific organizations. As a reviewer may be engaged as professors, associate professors and professors of other higher education institutions.

Reviewers must have basic education or academic degree, science degree or the direction of industrial activity corresponding to the profile of the protected final work (project).

Supervisor of the graduation project:

- Advises the student in choosing the theme of graduation project;

- Gives the tasks to complete the project;

- Provides students with assistance in the development of the timetable on

the entire period of performance;

- Encourages students to the necessary literature, reference, regulatory and archival materials, sample projects, and other sources on the subject;

- Sets the schedule of consultations, during which monitors the observance of the student calendar schedule of final work;

- Sets the volume of all sections of the project and coordinates the work of the student and consultants;

- Points out the shortcomings and comments, recommends how to best resolve;

- Comprehensively characterizes the quality of the thesis, drew particular attention to the shortcomings, the ability to motivate or unreasonableness of the graduation project in the SAC.

The task on the graduation project describes the starting material and sources, a list of questions developed by the student, the list of recommended literature, the list of graphic material (tables, charts, diagrams, etc..), a detailed schedule of writing the work (project).

After fixing the theme the supervisor develops the task and schedule of work and consultation for the entire period, indicating the sequence of individual stages.

After this the task with the schedule is approved by the head of the graduate department.

One copy is given to the student; the second copy shall be kept at the department and subsequently with the project seems to be protected.

Sample of the preparation tasks for graduation projects listed in Annexes 1 and 2.

Each graduation project according to the task should be the development of the individual and promising theoretical and practical issues. For example, in the engineering specialties in final projects, in addition to the main theme should get coverage on technology, automation and complex mechanization of production, standardization, scientific organizations of the labor and production management etc.

Each project must have an appropriate business case, as well as sections on labor protection and industrial ecology.

Task on the graduation project is filed in the project after the title page without numbering.

If necessary, on the proposal of the supervisor of the graduation project, the Department shall have the right to invite advisers by the individual sections of the work due to the time limit allotted to guide of the final work.

Consultants may be appointed professors, associate professors, lecturers and researchers of other departments and organizations. Consultant checks the relevant part of the project done and decorated by the student and signs it.

The graduate department before the start of the course and graduation projects should develop and provide students with the methodological guidelines, which establish requirements for the project in accordance with the state mandatory standards.

Head of the department (or supervisor) establishes terms of students periodic report on the implementation of the project; in these terms supervisor and head of the department check the readiness of the project and report it to the dean.

Graduation work is performed on the basis of in-depth study of the literature on the specialty (textbooks, manuals, monographs, periodical literature, lectures, and magazines in foreign languages and other normative literature)

The main text of the graduation project is to reveal the creative idea, justification of research methods adopted by the methods of calculation and own calculations performed, usually with the use of computer technology, the description of the experiments, analysis and conclusions on them, the technical and economic comparison of variants and, if necessary, accompanied by illustrations, diagrams, sketches, diagrams, schemes, etc.

The work on the graduation project can be carried out at a university student, as well as in the enterprise, research, design and other organizations.

Objectives and tasks of graduation projects

The aim of the diploma projects are:

- Systematization, consolidation and expansion of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in their specialty and their application in solving specific scientific, technical, economic, industrial and cultural objectives;

- Development of skills for independent scientific work and mastery of modern methods of scientific research and experimental in solving emerging problems and issues;

- Clarification of preparedness of students for independent work in the conditions of modern production, science, technology, culture, and their level of professional competence.

The range of tasks in the development of the graduation project covers:

- Choice of the theme, its formulation in terms of the relevance of a (theoretical or practical) or tradition under the new approach to develop;

-interpretation of the raw materials on the topic, the available analysis of the

project proposals, unique object in the domestic and foreign practice;

- The study of urban development situation and identifying problems of harmonic inclusion of projected (s) of the object (s) into the anthropogenic environment;

- The choice of space-planning, functional, technological and constructive solutions of the entire complex or part of it ( ex. first stage of construction);

- Proposals for the organization of construction and technology of the production complex as a whole and its parts (the first stage of construction), or a separate building;

- Economic assessment of the architectural solutions; graphical implementation of the project; research part of the project; explanatory notes to design solutions; protection.

Graduation projects are a generalization of the results of the independent study and research of actual problems of the definite specialty corresponding branch of science.

Graduation projects must have:

- Target oriented;

- A clear structure;

- Logical sequence of presentation;

- Depth research and completeness of coverage issues;

- Convincing argument;

- Concise and accurate language;
