Питание – важная часть выздоровления. Большое количество людей выздоравливающих от зависимостей, плохо питаются. Многие страдают от гипогликемии (пониженного содержания сахара в крови) и диабета. Важно иметь комплексные пособия о роли правильного питания для выздоровления.

ПРОЦЕСС СРЫВА

В 1935 г. процент срывов у проходивших терапию алкоголиков составлял 98%. Лишь двум процентам алкоголиков после терапии удавалось остаться трезвыми и выздоравливать. В начале 1970 гг. к выздоровлению приходило 40-60 % всех алкоголиков после терапии. Такое резкое улучшение процента выздоровления непосредственно связано с более точным пониманием природы алкоголизма (концепция болезни) и применением этого понимания в клинической практике. Процент срывов с 1970 г. остался практически неизменным. Для существенного увеличения числа успешно выздоравливающих необходимо систематическое наблюдение за пациентами, которым не удаётся выздоравливать. На основе этой информации должно родиться новое, более точное понимание природы срыва, которое потом должно быть применено на практике.
