I. Canada is an independent federative, stete consisting of ten provinces and two territories a member of the English Common Wealth headed by the Queen of Great Britain. Population is 25. 000. 000. Capital - Ottawa. The Capital situated on the bank of the Ottawa River. It only started to the bank of the Ottawa River. It only started to look like a town in 1827 and in 1857 Queen Victoria chose Ottawa as a capital city. It is a city of bridges. Four bridges serve automobile and railway traffic between Ottawa and Hull. Canada's largest cities are:Toronto, Montreal, Vancoover. Toronto is a port on lakeOntario. It is also the leading industrial, centre of the country. Montreal is a large, port and it is also one of the leading banks and corporations city greenery than any other Canadian city. Vancoover is a garden city. It has more greenery than any other Canadian city. Vancoover is the largest port and the centre of Canadian trade. English and French are bouth official languages: 60% persent speaks English. 27%persent speaks French.
II. The greater part of Canada lies between the some parallels as the Russia. Like Siberia, Canada is rich in forests, minerals and animals. Canada is one of the most highly developed capitalist countries in the world. About 2persent of Canada is still covered by ice. Modern Canada originated as a country of immigrants. The Europens appeared on Canadian soil between the 15-th and the 16-th centuries. John Cabot discovered the Island in 1497. Many settlements of Spanish, English and French fishermen began to the coasts of Newfoundland. In 1583 Newfoundland was proclaimed in British possession. In early period in Canada was struggle France played the main role in the early colonization of Canada.III. In 1763 after the seven yearswar the whole of Canada fell into the hands of Britain. After the war of American independence about 400.000 English colonists crossed the frontier into Canada. There were two parts of Canada, Upper Canada English - speaking and, Lower Canada French - speaking.The years passed and a steam of immigrants entered Canada from Britain. So, the English - speaking settlers became the majority. The English and French settlers were dissatisfied with the self - goverment. At lest in 1867 a federation was formed out the four provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec. So, the modern state of Canada was established. Then new provinces joined Canada. When Newfoundland joined the federation in 1949. Canada attained it'spresentday form. each province has it's own government and it's own parliament.
