Kinds of computers
There are four kinds of computers: microcomputers, minicomputers, mainframes and supercomputers. Microcomputers, or personal computers, get the name from microprocessor, a tiny electronic device. Microcomputers are designed for one user. Minicomputers are larger than microcomputers. They are designed for a group of users in an organization. Minicomputers, mainframes and supercomputers use processors built from many components. Mainframes are larger than minicomputers and have more abilities. Supercomputers perform the most complex tasks.
