«ETHNOCULTURAL IDENTITY OF THE PEOPLES OF SIBERIA AND CONTIGUOUS TERRITORIES»

Problems of identity turned to a global problem if modernity that not only particular people but also many social groups, societies and the whole states are faced with. Historians connect the current interest to ethnical and ethnical cultural identities in a society with the dissolution of the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia and with the followed military and ethnical conflicts, psychologists explain it with a fact that socialization of the personality is impossible without ethnical identity’s formation, sociological explanation of the observed situation is a widening of inter-ethnical contacts, stimulation of political and economic interests of Russia, teachers can see a necessary condition of the youth upbringing in a way of patriotism building and a citizen’s service of the native land as a formation of identity. Ethnologists assume reasons of the sharp interest to identity are a consequent conclusion of ethnicities development, following intensification of inter-ethnical interactions, reaction to a prolonged crisis of cultural identities that covered the modern world. It is planned to observe important questions of the group identity of the peoples of Siberia and contiguous territories as in the historical past as in the modern globalized world that is exposed to serious transformation processes. Ethnologists, historians, sociologists, philosophers, folklorists, cultural and region history scholars, psychologists and other specialists which interests are connected with the topics of the conference are invited to participate.

The main thematic directions for discussion
– updating of the theme of identity in conditions of globalization and transformation changes;
– role of ethnical cultural diversity in social cultural and economic dynamics;
– interrelation of ethical and national (whole national), ethnical and ethnical cultural, ethnical cultural and confessional identities;
– representation of “own”, “other”, “foreign”: ethnical differentiated and ethnical consolidated characteristics;
— basic foundations of the regional identity formation;
– plurality of the forms of ethical cultural identity; problem of sub-ethnical identity;
– impact of material and spiritual cultures, folklore, mythology, peoples arts on the identification strategies and opportunities;
– peculiarities of ethnical cultural identities at the different stages of the Siberian peoples’ history of development and of the peoples on the contiguous territories;
— ethnical cultural identity of the Russian and other Eastern Russian peoples in Siberia (the XVIIth– the first third of the XXth centuries);
– national (the whole national), ethnical, regional identities as a factor of determination of the inter-ethnical integration;
– interconnection of the national (whole national) and ethnical identities and traditional moral model;
– inter-ethnical societies: hybridity and heterogeneity in inter-cultural interactions;
– modern and post-modern searches of identity in modern Northern Asia;
– identity and cultural heritage; identity and museum; identity and politics of memory;
– the language as a factor of ethnical and confessional identities among peoples of the Northern Asia;
– formation of regional local identities of scientific toposes;
– inter-connection of the components of historical cultural landscape with the peoples’ world view and identity.
