My name is Raina B. I am 11 years old and have one step brother and one step sister. I have two cats and a dog. The cat’s names are Dotty and Harry, the Dog’s name is Chico. I really like to draw, read, run, and play softball. My favorite food is spaghetti. My favorite color is neon orange and neon green. My favorite kind of music to listen to is rock, hip hop, and pop. I love the movie the shining because it’s scary, I love scary movies! When I grow up I want to be an Olympic medalist runner and a forest ranger. My favorite school subjects are math and science. I love everything scary! Books, movies and everything else scary! Right now I am reading Dracula by Bram Stoker. It is a very long book, 502 pages! I like spaghetti because I love slurping noodles! I also like the taste. I like math and science and math because they are fun! My favorite season is summer because I like swimming!

Greetings! Thanksgiving is the time of year when families get together and have lots of food! We will celebrate it this Thursday. In this holiday we give thanks for what we have.
And we usually eat turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, apple pie, blueberry pie...Lots of pies. Our feast is similar to the Pilgrims’ feast!! But they had special visitors - Indians. The Indians had taught them how to plant a good corn crop.

Hello ePal friends.
India is a full of cultural festivals.The most colorful one is Holi.The colorful festival of Holi is celebrated on Phalgun Purnima which comes in February end or early March. Holi festival has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of ‘good’ over ‘bad’. The colorful festival bridges the social gap and renew sweet relationships. On this day, people hug and wish each other ‘Happy Holi’. Holi celebration begins with lighting up of bonfire on the Holi eve. Numerous legends & stories associated with Holi celebration makes the festival more exuberant and vivid. People rub ‘gulal’ and ‘abeer’ on each others’ faces and cheer up saying, “bura na maano Holi hai”. Holi also gives a wonderful chance to send blessings and love to dear ones wrapped in a special Holi gift. This festival is full of joy. We have some big problems at our school! For instance, the school lunch - they need to make it so much better! In our community, there’s too much garbage laying around. There’s garbage in the fields and on the streets. We need to cut down our pollution by not driving so many buses to school and making a wider range for walking to school. Hello once again!!!
Today we Indians celebrate a festival Lohri. Lohri, is celebrated every year on 13th of January. It is a festival to worship fire. Lohri Festival is celebrated with great pomp in North India. At this time Earth starts moving towards the sun. At night, people gather around the bonfire and throw til, puffed rice & popcorns into the flames of the bonfire. Prayers are offered to the bonfire seeking abundance & prosperity. People make merry by dancing and singing traditional folk songs. Its sort of a campfire.

Subject: Late New year resolution by 9 days exactly(my bad)
Dear friends,
My new years resolution is to try to write a story thats at least 200 pages long without quitting after the first 27 pages. I really do like writing stories but I get bored and usually quit after the first 10-30 pages. Too bad because even though my stories are pretty exciting, I bore myself. I blame it all on my books because I’d rather read than write and if I didn’t like reading, I would continue my stories a little longer because I’d have nothing else to do (I’m just hoping to finish this novel and make it exciting).

Hi epals, here in America we’re about to start winter break. I really hope we get some snow over here because I definitely want a white christmas this year. Every time we get snow here it snows for a day then melts and freezes into ice the next day. Anyways, I am really excited to get out of school on Thursday to spend time with my family.
