6. Some time ago, The CPA Journal asked its readers: If you could go back in time and do it all over again, would you still become an accountant? The vast majority of respondents have said “yes!”. Do you think you will work as an accountant for all your life? If not, where else can you use your knowledge and skills?
7. For a long time accountants were viewed as the people that wear the green eye shades that are chained to their desks all day crunching numbers to balance the accounting books. Now the accountant's green eye shade image is becoming history. Work in small groups and discuss the reasons of changing the accountant’s image. Try to describe the modern accountant. What is the stereotype today?
With unemployment at record lows, employers are finding it increasingly difficult to attract and retain qualified workers. Companies have to use special systems and processes to find a suitable person. Arrange the events in order of their occurrence.

- making the selection;
- interviewing the candidates;
- sorting the applicants;
- discarding unsuitable applications;
- posting the ads in the local or national press.

You want to interview someone for a job in your accounts department. Work in pairs. Make questions you could ask at the interview. Choose from the prompts and practise the interview.

What applicable attributes/experience do you have? 4.Why are you the best person for the job? 5. What do you know about this company? 6. Why do you want to work for this organization? 7.
