Your relationships with your family
My family is quite small; I'm the only child in the
family. I think I get on with my parents well and I can
say that I really look up to them. However, sometimes
we have arguments and don't see eye to eye, but I
think every family has such kind of problems. So,
sometimes my parents can be strict and even tell me
off, for instance, if I want to stay out late or buy
something very expensive. But still the only thing that
they want is to make my life better and, in my opinion,
a good parent should be strict, otherwise his child can
become spoilt. So I always try to understand my
parents in such situations. What is more, I know that I
can always rely on my parents and they’ll always do
their best to help me.
Unfortunately, I can't say that I am an ideal daughter and,
moreover, sometimes I feel very ashamed of my behavior.
But I really love my parents and I strongly believe that I'm
a lucky child. So when I decide to have a family of my own
I'll try to be as a good parent for my children as my parents
are.
Your idea of a good friend
I think that friendship plays an important role in our lives.
Each of us needs a person who we can turn to if we have a
problem and who we can have fun with. A proverb says: "A
friend in need is a friend indeed", but I would say that a
true friend is the person who is honestly happy for you
when something good happens in your life. In my opinion a
good friend is a person who accepts you as you are, with all
you drawbacks. What is more, a good friend should be
honest with you, he shouldn't break his promises and he
must always tell you the truth, even if it hurts. And the most
important quality of a good friend, is that he should be
trustworthy, because I think that a true friend is a person
who always supports you, gives you advice and who you
can tell everything, because you know that he will never
give away your secrets.
As for me, I think that I'm quite a good friend, although it
can be difficult to deal with me sometimes, because I can
be stubborn and moody. But still I try to improve my
character. And I know that my friends can confide in me,
because I always keep my promises and never tell others'
secrets even to my close friends.
And I think that I'm really a happy person, because I have a
true friend. His name is Paul. I know that I can fully rely on

him, because he will never let me down. He's the sort of
person I can always turn to if I have a problem and I know
that I'll get sensible advice. And what is more, I know that
he's sincerely glad to see me happy.
Ideal husband
In my opinion an ideal husband is a person who you can
always fully rely on, because you are sure that he will never
let you down. I think that he should accept you as you are,
with all your drawbacks. Also he must respect you as well
as your relatives. What is more, he should be honest and
has nothing to conceal from you. Moreover, an ideal
husband must be really trustworthy, he should be a person
who will keep all your secrets and who will always give
you a hand if you have difficulties. So in my opinion an
ideal husband should be your best friend to some extent.
But the most important thing for me is that you should love
him and feel really loved.
I hope that such a man really exists and I will meet him one
day.
Home
Your present home
I live in a block of flats and I'm really happy about my
home. First of all, it's located in a quiet area, but at the
same time it's convenient for a bus stop and an underground
station, so I can easily get to any part of the city. Moreover,
it's also got a lot of amenities close to it: there's a huge
supermarket, where I can buy almost everything I need, a
bank, a post office and a hairdresser as well. Besides, my
present home is not far from a sports center and a cinema.
But most of all I'm glad that my home is handy for a
beautiful small park. It is especially wonderful in winter,
when there is a brightly decorated Christmas tree.
I live on the 8th floor in a 3-roomed flat and I'm fully
satisfied with it. Firstly, it's well-planned and has all
modern conveniences, such as hot water, central heating,
electric light. Secondly, I have a good-sized room to
myself, so I can always have some privacy. In addition,
there are large windows in our flat, so it catches a lot of
sunshine during the day.
To sum up, I'd like to say that I really like my present home
and I think I wouldn't like to move to another place.

Your dream house
I think I'd like to have a flat near the city center because I
want it to be convenient for my university or future work.
And I also want it to be handy for a lot of amenities, such
as cinemas, sport centers, restaurants, and banks. And some
good markets as well, where I could buy everything I'd
need. I think I'd like to live in a huge studio flat on the 20th
floor overlooking the city beneath it. There should be really
enormous windows and I'd like my flat to catch a lot of
sunshine during the day. Moreover, I want to have all the
modern conveniences in my flat, such as hot water, central
heating, and electric light. What is more I'd like to have a
lot of electronic devices there. Also I'd like to hang a few
modern pictures on the walls to decorate my flat, because I
want it to be bright and colorful.
But I also think that it's impossible to live in a big city all
the time, so I'd like to have a detached house somewhere in
the country as well, where I could spend my weekends
away from the noisy city. I'd like it to be situated in a quiet
area, it should be surrounded by beautiful meadows and,
moreover, I'd it to face a lake. But still I'd like to have all
the modern conveniences there, because I want my house to
be a place where I could just relax and have nothing to
worry about.
I hope I will be able to make all my dreams come true in
the future.
Describe a house in poor condition
I want to tell you about the neglected detached house which
I saw near my grandmother's cottage in the country. That
house is very filthy and dark. Moreover, all the windows in
the house are broken. As far as I know the its roof is
leaking and I'm absolutely sure that all the floorboards are
rotten and the wallpaper is coming off. What is more, the
garden is in terrible condition and even doesn't have a
fence. It goes without saying that nobody's living there at
the moment. But I believe that it just needs decoration and
doing up.
Firstly, the roof needs to be repaired and I think that the
ceiling needs whitewashing. Secondly, the new windows

should be installed. What is more, the floor needs to be
seen to and the walls certainly should be papered. I suppose
that the house also needs rewiring and central heating needs
to be put in. And I think that after doing up that house will
be really suitable for living.
