Цель практического занятия – повторение грамматических правил и развитие разговорных навыков по темам “ Cinema ” и “ Theatre ”. Материал для занятий – серия несложных текстов юмористическо – познавательной направленности, содержание которых связано с темой настоящего разговорного практикума.
I) Разделительный вопрос в английском языке.
В разговорной речи нам иногда приходится переспрашивать собеседника, уточнять информацию или выражать сомнение. Когда мы знаем, о чем речь, но нам необходимо подтверждение, мы используем форму разделительного вопроса - в английском языке question - tags (русск. не так ли?). Проанализировав следующие примеры, вы сможете выполнить Задание № 1
· She works as an actress, doesn’t she?
· He doesn’t like soap operas, does he?
· They danced in corps – de – ballet, didn’t they?
· Film producers have got a lot of work to do, haven’t they?
· We are meeting at the cinema tomorrow, aren’t we?
· He isn’t an actor, is he?

William: Hamlet.
Richard: I don’t like the title. Anyway, let’s have a look at it. The psychological plays are not popular any more.
William: Oh, dear. Aren’t they?
Richard: And what does this mean?

Richard: This. “To be or not. To be, that is a question.” Well?
William: No, Richard. “To be or not to be. That is a question.”
Richard: No, I still don’t like it. I don’t think people will pay to see this, William. Why don’t you write another comedy? Or a love story. Now, they are very popular, aren’t they?

Text 2. Happy Birthday, Mr. President
In May 1962, Marilyn Monroe sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” at John F. Kennedy’s birthday celebration in New York.
She wore a skin-tight dress made of silk and covered in 6,000 beads. It cost her $12,000. Her hairdresser said, “Marilyn was amazingly beautiful that night, like a vision.”
37 years later, Christies of New York held a “Private property of Marilyn Monroe” auction. 1,500 items of Marilyn’s property were sold, including the famous dress.
When Christies looked for a model to wear the dress at the auction, they were surprised to find that the 1 meter and 68 actress was very slim. “One of the smallest mannequins we found in the United States was still not the correct size for the Happy Birthday dress, they said. “Marilyn was much smaller than people realized.”
When a collector brought the dress for $ 1,150,000, it became the most expensive dress in the world. The buyer said that it was cheaper than he expected. He was prepared to pay $3,000,000.
There are few photos of Marilyn singing “Happy Birthday, Mr. President”, but it was her last memorable public performance. She died three months later at the age of 36.

Text 4. Soap operas (or soaps) started in the United States. They’re called soap operas because there were often adverts for soap powders during the programmes. Today there are TV and radio soaps in most countries. In Britain, the programmes with the biggest audiences are almost always soaps.

Обратите внимание, что речь идет не только о фильмах легкого мелодраматично-комедийного содержания, но и о более серьезных сериалах приключенческого, документального, исторического, биографического и т.п. жанров.
Каждому из вас необходимо вслух проговорить каждую ситуацию отдельно (всего 8), например:
