INSTRUCTIONS FOR BIRD & TREE DESIGNS OR BORDER DESIGNS - If you wish to make a very large design from the five “ARBOR” designs and the four ‘BLUEBIRDS OF HAPPINESS’ designs (also from the three “BOWERY”designs) I have included placement graphics on the last page of this Readme. The designs must be embroidered in number order and remember the last stitch of the first design (I leave a long tail of thread so I know where this stitch is) is in the same place as the first stitch of the next design. There are also some graphics of other ways we can use the designs. TIP - you can use this last and first stitch method for border designs i.e. 'Border', 'Fleur Corner' & 'Fleur Border' designs for both large and small hoops.

PFAFF - Help. - Using Windows Explorer copy the Pfaff Folder from your CD onto your Hard drive for trouble free

loading from your software program. The Pfaff designs have been sized larger, they are now 15% bigger than the designs for the 100 x 100 hooped machines. Designs of approximately over 14,500 stitches are split by the Pfaff Software, please follow the chart below which tells you which colours to use for the second part of the design. Please do not follow the colour numbers shown on the machine for the second part of the design.

Balcony - 17,264 Stitches Frame 1 - Colours 1 to 8. Frame 2 - Colour 8 to 11.

Barrow - 17,247 Stitches Frame 1 - Colours 1 to 10. Frame 2 - Colours 10 to 11.

Fountain - 15,429 Stitches Frame 1 - Colours 1 to 13. Frame 2 - Colours 13 to 14.

Butterfly - 16,025 Stitches Frame 1 - Colours 1 to 5. Frame 2 - Colour 5.

JANOME - Help – ‘Janome 9000’ designs having more than 12 colours have been split into two frames

as the machine reads a maximum of 12 colours – do not move these designs around in your layout facility as

they will not line up exactly – embroider design ‘_A’ first then ‘_B’ next without unhooping your design.

GENERAL - Help - Thread – Use a good quality 40wt Embroidery thread and a light weight bobbin fill i.e.

Madiera Burmilon No 200 or for the larger hoops I use Mettler bobbin fill No. 150.

Stabilisers – for this collection hoop up with two layers of medium to heavy weight tearaway which have been adhered

together with a spray of ‘KK100’ temporary adhesive which is manufactured for this purpose – With very soft

or light weight fabric I spray on a fabric stabiliser ‘Sullivans’ and iron it dry and then hoop up as above.

Hooping - For beautiful embroidery sewouts you must hoop up correctly, one trick is to wrap your inner hoop

with cotton tape. You need to push the inner hoop firmly into the outer hoop then adjust the fabric

and tighten the hoop screw. The hooped fabric and stabilisers should be taut like the top of a drum.

Needles - I mainly use a Metafil (No 80) (12) needle.

LOADING THE DESIGNS READY FOR YOUR SOFTWARE

Please copy the Folder on the CD for your embroidery machine onto your Hard drive (using Windows Explorer)

for trouble free reading of the designs in your software program so you can send them to your embroidery

machine using the appropriate method for your software program. If using a floppy with your Brother Embroidery

machine do not load them in their folder, copy the designs only onto the floppy so your machine can read them.
