1. По составу все английские предлоги делятся на простые (in, at, on, for), составные (into, upon, throughot) и групповые (in front of, according to, instead of).
2. По отношению к событиям их можно разделить на:

К сожалению, выучить только данную служебную часть речи и ее перевод недостаточно. Некоторые из них имеют несколько значений, некоторые используются в устойчивых выражениях и, так называемых, фразовых глаголах (например: on duty — дежурный, on foot — пешком, to be interested in — интересоваться чем-либо, to be responsible for — быть ответственным за), некоторые совпадают по форме с наречиям
Предлоги в английском языке.
Давайте рассмотрим предлоги в английском языке , которые существуют в английском и что они означают, когда каждый из них использованию.
on – на чем-то/ком-то
на что-то/кого-то
in – в чем-то/ком-то
into – в что-то/кого-то
at– в (время),
у чего-то/кого-то
to – в/на (направление движения)
by – к чему-то (к завершению чего-то)
since – с (какого-то момента)
of – принадлежность части чего-то целого
for – для чего-то/кого-то
across, though, over - через что-то/кого-то
Теперь более детально рассмотрим каждый из них:
1.Предлог в английском языке - on
где? – на чем-то/ком-то
куда? – на что-то/кого-то
on the table – на столе (где?)
на стол (куда?)
on the floor, on the book, on the piano, on the chair, on her/him, on the ground, on the bridge, on the beach, on the snow, on the wall, on the blackboard, on the roof, on the sofa etc.
Example:
Where is my book? – It is on the table.
Where did you put my chair? – I put it on the floor.

Различия:
преодолеть расстояния прежде, чем дойти до назначения – to (go to)

Английский предлог “of”
Означает часть чего-то целого.
Например :
ручка окна или двери – the handle of the window or door.
Мне нравится цвет твоей машины.
I like the color of your car.
Ей нравится стиль моего платья.
She likes the style of my dress.
With/by
with – орудие (чем произведено действие).
by – деятель (того, кто совершил действие)
with a pencil – карандашом
by my mother – мамой
Например:
Она нарисовала ту картину чeрным карандашом.
She drew that picture with the black pencil.
Тот обед был приготовлен моей мамой вчера.
That dinner was cooked by my mother yesterday.
listen to me – слушать _ меня
look at me – смотреть на меня
wait for me – ждать _ меня
speak to me – говорить со мной
laugh at me – смеяться надо мной
complain of me – жаловаться на меня
to be afraid of me – бояться _ меня
answer _ my question – ответить на мой вопрос
enter _ the room – войти в комнату
turn _ the handle – повернуть _ ручку
