  B. The history of Russian chocolate begins during the reign of Catherine II. Venezuelan Francisco de Mirand brought an unusual delicacy at that time to Russia. It is with its appearance that the era of chocolate in Russia begins.

  C. In 2009, with the active participation of Kraft Foods Rus, a bronze sculpture of the Chocolate Fairy was installed, the only one not only in our country, but also in the world. This happened not by chance, because the town of Pokrov can be called the chocolate capital of our country: every third chocolate bar produced in Russia is produced in the town, and the confectionery factory is the largest in Europe.

   D. In 2010, Chocolate Day became an official town holiday. On weekends and weekdays, you can watch how city guests, and the residents themselves, take pictures with the Chocolate Fairy, after having previously lost the chocolate bar in her outstretched hand “for happiness”.

  E. Chocolate Day in the town of Pokrov is an annual very bright event that attracts the attention of a large number of children, adults and tourist groups. This event includes a large-scale theatrical spectacle, an extensive concert program, a large number of attractions, activities and workshops on creating chocolates, painting gingerbread cookies, slimes.
