AmericaSpeaks

www.americaspeaks.org

AmericaSpeaks develops innovative deliberative tools that give citizens an opportunity to have a strong voice in public decision-making. While the organization does consulting on citizen engagement and strategic planning, it is best known for its 21st Century Town Meetings, which allow hundreds or thousands of people—sometimes in physically disparate locations—to express their individual perspectives in a process that quickly and transparently summarizes the group’s collective conclusions and priorities for action. While much of AmericaSpeaks’ work has focused on connecting citizens to elected officials, the organization has also used this process for corporations, non-profits, and international organizations.
