Will modern technologies replace schools? Why or why not?

Some people believe that soon schools will no longer be necessary. These people say that because of the Internet and other new technology, there is no longer any need for school buildings, formal classes, or teachers. Technology, no doubt, has brought changes to the classroom. On one hand it does make learning easy for students, on the other hand it eases the teaching process for the teachers. However, no matter how advanced the technology gets, it can never perform the role of a teacher. Teachers don't simply teach concepts and skills. Any new technology can do that. Good teachers inspire our young people to be lifelong learners, teach the students the necessary life skills, and guide them to take on the right path. Teachers are often considered to be the role models for students. A teacher does not just speak, but instead, read the faces of the students sitting in the class. If the teacher feels that a student sitting at the back bench didn’t understand a concept, the teacher can present the information in another way which reaches out to every member of the class. No technology can understand the emotional state of the students and interact with humans. In fact, it is great teachers who make using technology so significant in students’ education. In fact, we need to look at how we can we can use new technology to make schools better, not to eliminate them. We should invent a new kind of school that is linked to libraries, museums, science centers, laboratories, and even corporations.

Ask me about my school life?

I wonder what school you went to.

What was your favourite subject?

Did you like to stay after classes and take part in extra-class activities?

Did you get on well with your classmates?

How did you spend your free time?

What can you advise a student how to prepare a good speech?

Preparing correctly for your speeches and presentations is a very important skill and it’s a very important part of public speaking. First of all you should decide on the topic of your speech. Then it’s important to determine its structure. Your audience will likely find the speech confusing if it does not have structure. The following step is to write the speech or to create a speech outline.

Of course you need to practise your speech in front of a mirror or in front of the video camera and make sure that it flows well. You’re likely to have to give multiple public speeches throughout your life. So it’s important to learn from every single experience to become a better public speaker.

Think about the things that you did well. You could even list them on a piece of paper or in your head. And then consider how you can improve your speech the next time.

Some people think that education is a key to success. Do you agree with them?

In today’s society knowledge has acquired top priority. We all live in a society which has its own set spoken/unspoken rules and one of them is education. I’m sure that education opens new horizon for us. An educated member certainly has a greater chance to contribute to his community. Education is a must for a promising and secure future and a stable life. The more educated you are, the better career options you have! Education is a must if we want to do away with the existing differences between different social classes and genders. Education also plays a major role in women empowerment. Education is very important if you want to be a self dependent person. It helps you become financially independent but that is not all. Education also makes you wiser so that you can make your own decisions in most cases, your degree is what helps you realize all your dreams.

Now let's talk about environment. People say that our planet is in danger. Do you share this opinion?

I agree that our planet is in danger. Every year the world’s industry pollutes the atmosphere with millions of tons of dust and other harmful substances. The seas and rivers are poisoned with industrial waste .People who live in big cities are badly affected by harmful discharge from plants and city transport Among the most important problems are depletion of the ozone layer, acid rains and global warming. Another serious problem is the disappearance of forests. There are a lot of places on our planet that need our help. The nuclear accident of Chernobyl has seriously aggravated the ecological situation in Belarus. About 18 per cent of the country’s soil is unfit for farming and some districts of the country are dangerous to live.

There are many of environmental issues and they’re all interdependent. The most dramatic of them is, probably, climate change. It is the biggest environmental challenge facing the world today. In Europe, for example, climate change results in hotter and drier summers; warmer and wetter winters; more storms and rainfall; other extreme weather conditions and rising sea-level. That sounds threatening. There are different types of pollution: air pollution, water pollution, even noise pollution. Radioactive contamination is a form of pollution, too. So, nuclear plants are very hazardous. Take Chernobyl or Fucusima, for example.

It is widely recognized that waste materials are a valuable resource, too. Proverb says “One man’s trash, is another man’s treasure”. There’s the issue of resource depletion, as well. In the last decades people have been cutting down lots of trees, especially in tropical areas. Forests are being destroyed at the rate of 40 hectares a minute! Deforestation destroys the environmental balance and reduces biodiversity.

More and more animals and plant species are becoming extinct. Biodiversity is a term which describes how rich the Earth is in the amount of species. So here we’re dealing with another environmental issue: conservation. Environmentalists and conservationists are trying to save the endangered species.
