Absenteeism, particularly among part-time workers, is too high. And the number of man-hours lost per employee is much higher at your factory in comparison with other firms. You are the Managing Director, talk about the problem with the Production Manager.

b) You are the Production Manager. You are baffled as the Managing Director is with the problem-taking place in your department. You discuss with the Managing Director how to find the way out and motivate people to work harder.

b) You are the Deputy Chief Executive of a company. Your company must reduce its running costs by $ 50 000. You are discussing how to save the money with your boss. You don’t think cutting the staff training budget and stopping all donations to charity is the best way out. You think it is better to put off buying new production machinery and new computer equipment.

You recommend actions to be undertaken by the company in future.

b) You are the Deputy Chief Executive. You think it is a good idea to use experience of the past years in the future activities of the company. Discuss the actions the Chief Executive recommends.
