Let’s talk about a healthy way of life. What can you do to be healthy?



Everybody wants to live a long healthy life. Nowadays a healthy body becomes a fashion, an ideal of modern life. There are many ways to keep fit. For example, healthy food is a very important factor. Overeating causes many dangerous diseases. We shouldn’t snack and we should have breakfast. We should eat low-fat food, more fruit and vegetables, meat, milk products, which are rich in vitamins and proteins. We shouldn’t eat at night. If you keep to a diet, you must do it carefully, because sometimes diets may be harmful. Besides, to be healthy, a person must stop smoking and drinking much. Besides, nowadays there is a problem of taking drugs, especially among young people. It causes many diseases and leads to death. Everyone should remember that cigarettes, alcohol and drugs destroy our body and brain. And the best way to be healthy is to go in for sports. Sport is very important in our life. Many people do morning exercises and train themselves in different sections and take part in sport competitions. To keep fit, it is very useful to walk a lot, to play active games, to spend a lot of time outdoors in the fresh air.

As for me, I like to go in for sports very much. I am good at swimming. I visit a swimming-pool 3 times a week.

2. Do you agree that smoking is an unhealthy habit? Why (not)? Of course, I agree. Smoking is harmful for all people and especially for children. It’s known from statistics that smoking kills 2,5 million people a year. Also smoking may cause heart diseases and spoil your teeth and skin. So it is better not to begin smoking because in future you will have to make a lot of efforts so as to get rid of this bad habit.

3. What questions will you ask a person who keeps to a slimming diet? What do you need to eat? How often are you going to visit a fitness club? Will aerobics and yoga be helpful to lose weight?

4. What can you advise a person who wants to lose weight? I can advise not to follow someone’s advice from your friends or mates but to have regular exercises and to move as much as possible, to eat more fruit and vegetables and reject junk food, to eat in small portions at regular hours and be positive in your attitude towards your appearance. I think people should love themselves and take care of their souls and bodies.

5. What is the best way to promote a healthy way of life among young people? Why is it important to stay healthy? There are many ways of keeping fit. Firstly, you could visit health and fitness clubs. A lot of health and fitness clubs, public leisure centres, huge indoor water parks are very popular among people of all ages. Secondly, regular exercise is necessary. People of different ages can choose or design exercises that will fit them. Some people do aerobics or yoga; others prefer weight training in a gym. Doing some sport or other on a regular basis is the best way of keeping fit.

SPORT

 

1. Let’s talk about sport. Whatistherole of sport in your life?Sport is an important part of every person’s life. It helps people to keep fit, healthy and slim. Sport is also very competitive. When it first appeared in the world people started thinking of different contests. The Olympic Games, which take place every four years, are a good example of competition. It’s a great occasion, where sportsmen from all over the world can show their talents. I’m a great fan of these games. If I only had a chance, I would happily participate in such competition, or at least I would like to be the spectator at these games. My favourite sport is figure-skating. I try not to miss the beautiful shows of this sport on TV. I’m also quite good at ice-skating but I’m not as professional as most of the girls on the ice-rink. Other sports that I do and enjoy are swimming and tennis in summer and skiing in winter. Speaking about everyday trainings I always try to do my morning exercises and sometimes if my friend is up to it we go jogging. It helps us to be fit and provides with energy for the rest of the day.

 

2. Do you agree that sport is necessary for a healthy way of life?Yes, I do. Because sport helps people to kip fit, healthy and slim.

 

3. What questions will you ask a professional sportsman?Whoinfluencedonyour decision to become a professional sportsman? Is your salary worth continuing doing sports? What do you do to escape injuries?

What can you advise a person who doesn’t know what kind of sport to take up?Firstofall I would recommend deciding several things like whether he or she wants to take it up professionally or not, outdoors or indoors, team or individual. Then it will be very useful to visit some sports clubs, talk to people who go in for sport for some years. Then it will be time to make decisions.

 

5. What are your sport preferences? As for me, I prefer swimming in summer and figure-skating in winter, because these two kinds of sport are very popular in our country and very interesting.

CLOTHES & FASHION

 

1. Let's talk about fashion. What role does it play in your life?Fashion is something we deal with everyday.

Even people who say they don't care what they wear choose clothes every morning that say a lot about them and how they feel that day.

One certain thing in the fashion world is change.

We are constantly being bombarded with new fashion ideas from music, videos, books, and television.

Movies also have a big impact on what people wear. Ray-Ban sold more sunglasses after the movie Men In Black.

Sometimes a trend is world-wide. Back in the 1950s, teenagers everywhere dressed like Elvis Presley.

Fashion is revealing. Clothes reveal what groups people are in.

In high school, groups have names: "goths, skaters."

Styles show who you are, but they also create stereotypes and distance between groups.

For instance, a businessman might look at a boy with green hair and multiple piercings as a freak and outsider.

Fashion is big business.

More people are involved in the buying, selling and production of clothing than any other business in the world.

As for me, I don’t pay too much attention to fashion.

I believe that it is more important to create your own style.

I prefer to wear classic pieces that are comfortable and complement my personality, while at home my outfit is definitely more casual.

 

2. Do you follow the latest fashion trends? Why (not)? Of course, I try to follow it, but it’s usually rather difficult to buy fashionable clothes in our small town, so I need to go to Minsk to buy something.

3. What questions would you ask a fashion designer? What is the difference between fashion and style? What is your favourite trend? What colour is in fashion this season? Is it really important to look stylish?

4. What would you advise a person who wants to be fashionable? You, should read fashion magazines, watch TVprogrammes about fashion and follow the latest fashion trends.

5. They say that young people pay a lot of attention to their style and want to be fashionable. What do you think about it? Some of them have very little free time to pay a lot of attention to fashion, but those who have, they try to be stylish, to buy and wear trendous clothes every day and for every situation. I am not against of such their behavior and desire to be fashionable.
