Do you like to visit museums? Why or why not?

People like visiting museums when they travel to new places. I think this is because museums tell them a lot about the culture of those places. I can’t imagine going to Paris without visiting the Louver museum or going to Cairo without visiting the Egyptian museum. Yet the question is why people visit museums. I claim that there are three reasons for visiting a museum. It is an educational, a cultural, and an entertaining experience.

First of all, visiting museum is educational. A lot of people visit museums to gain knowledge about specific theme, the things you see will be on your head for a long time, it is not like reading a book or watching a movie. For example, visiting the Egyptian museum with wonderful statues, pictures, pyramids you can learn a lot of interesting facts about the country’s ancient culture. When you visit a museum you can gather the information you are interested in.
Moreover, visiting a museum is very entertaining. Watching statues that are three thousand years old or enjoying beautiful paintings in a museum is a great experience. You live in a different world, a world that is full of wonders. You feel so excited about being between these valuable things.

Museums are also fun. It’s almost impossible to get bored in a museum. Every museum will have at least one thing of interest to somebody.  Museums are popular because they reflect our creations, our values, and our dreams. No matter who you are or what you like, somewhere there is a museum that will amaze and interest you.
To sum up, visiting museums has several benefits, it is educational, cultural and fun as well. So when you go to any new place make sure to visit some museums there, otherwise you will miss a lot.

Ask me questions about the comedy I have lately seen.

Who is the author of the play?

What comedy can you watch over and over without getting bored?

What was the main idea of the play?

Did you enjoy the performance, the acting, the music, the decorations?

Was the comedy full of a sense of humor, irony or satire?

Give me a piece of advice on what architectural monuments are worth visiting in Belarus.

If you need a piece of advice on what architectural monuments are worth visiting in Belarus I would recommend you to see Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble – a monument of architecture of the second half of the 18-19th centuries. The complex consists of six museum objects. All the buildings are monuments of architecture of the 18-19th centuries.

Another place of interest is the Fortifications of  Brest Fortress. On April 26, 2012 the historical monument of the Russian Empire which became a symbol of courage of Belarusian people, marked the 170th anniversary since being put into operation. At the very beginning Brest Fortress was considered one of the most sophisticated fortifications of the Russian Empire. There are some pieces of architectural masterpiece in Grodno region. For example,

Sts. Boris and Gleb Church in Grodno is a holy place among heathens. It is the oldest Christian church in Grodnoregion. It goeswithout saying that every tourist should see Saint Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk, a bright example of the late Belarusian baroque, a symbol of equality and rivalry.

The contemporary Belarusian architecture is represented by the original building of the National Library. It is repeatedly listed as a building of most unusual design. Today the Belarusian “diamond” is not only a unique cultural and educational center and a book store, but also a favorite leisure area of Minsk residents and guests. From the observation deck of the National Library, located at a height of 72 meters, one can see Minsk spread before the eyes.

The architectural ensemble of Independence Avenue in Minsk is a monument to the Soviet-era urban planning and is of architectural value for the country and the world. The style of the buildings of Independence Avenue is described as “Stalin’s Empire”, and the buildings on the left and right sides are almost mirror images of each other. The architectural ensemble of Independence Avenue is included in the 10-volume encyclopedia “The World Architecture, 1900-2002” among thousands of the best works of world architecture.
