Classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child’s success in school.

I cannot completely agree with the statement that classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child's success in school. In this essay I will first focus on the reasons why I agree with this statement and then list a few points why from my opinion in some cases is not true.

From the one side, classmates have a significant influence on child's behavior and his or her success in school. First of all, children spend much time at school. Classmates have many things in common such as age, interests, homework and classes after all. So, they discuss their impressions about a new teacher, solve problems together, learn their homework, gain new knowledge and experience and even make their own discoveries. Sharing all these makes them closer. Some of them become friends and they spend after-school time together. In addition friends tend to copy each other's habits and manners. For instance, my little sister became friends with the girl who did not have good grades at school at that time. It does not mean she could not have better grades; she just had many friends who did not care about their grades. So, when they started to spend their time together and share their interests, girl's grades improved. They did their homework together, shared their dreams and exciting moments. From this point I must agree that classmates can change child’s attitude towards school.

From the other side, parents have a great influence on children' success in school too. For example if parents show an interest in their child's progress and talk to him or her about the importance of learning I think their child will listen to them and do his or her best.

Personally, I believe that relationships between parents and a child play an essential role in child's success in school. If these relationships are close and wholehearted I am sure that parents should not be afraid of bad influence from the outside.

Some people believe the aim of university education is to help graduates get better jobs. Others believe there are much wider benefits of university education for both individuals and society.

These days, more and more people are making the choice to go to university. While some people are of the opinion that the only purpose of a university education is to improve job prospects, others think that society and the individual benefit in much broader ways.

It is certainly true that one of the main aims of university is to secure a better job. The majority of people want to improve their future career prospects and attending university is one of the best ways to do this as it increases a persons marketable skills and attractiveness to potential employers. In addition, further education is very expensive for many people, so most would not consider it if it would not provide them with a more secure future and a higher standard of living. Thus job prospects are very important.

However, there are other benefits for individuals and society. Firstly, the independence of living away from home is a benefit because it helps the students develop better social skills and improve as a person. A case in point is that many students will have to leave their families, live in halls of residence and meet new friends. As a result, their maturity and confidence will grow enabling them to live more fulfilling lives. Secondly, society will gain from the contribution that the graduates can make to the economy. We are living in a very competitive world, so countries need educated people in order to compete and prosper.

Therefore, I believe that although a main aim of university education is to get the best job, there are clearly further benefits. If we continue to promote and encourage university attendance, it will lead to a better future for individuals and society.

Some people say that online education is an excellent alternative to traditional education.

Online education is rapidly increasing due to the development of computer technology. It

competes with traditional education on every level today. But is online learning for everyone?

In my opinion, online education has а lot of advantages. Firstly, it offers convenience and

flexibility. Students do not have to attend classes, and they can work at their own расе within а

schedule that they set for themselves. Secondly, with the surge in Internet usage, online

schools are growing in their offerings and quality. Moreover, online learning can Ье very

interesting. Some universities offer online student support services, including online advising

and tutoring, online textbook offer, and student newspapers.

However, some people think that online learning is not as effective as traditional education.

One of the disadvantages is that students cannot enjoy regular in-person interaction with their

professors and peers. Online education can bе а major challenge for people who find it difficult

to manage their time wisely. In addition, some people think that those who choose online

education do not work as much as those who choose traditional education.

But having а course online does not mean that there will bе less work. Online classes have

deadlines and due dates for assignments. Besides, online programs give students quick access

to their professors and fellow students through email or Web conferencing.

То conclude, online learning differs from the traditional classroom. One of its major

advantages is that those who want to receive а good education are no longer limited bу

geography. I think that online programs are especially convenient for disabled people and

working adults with families.
