ЗАДАНИЯ

1.1. Найдите транскрипцию приведённых ниже слов в англо-русском словаре. Произнесите слова в соответствии с транскрипцией (см. Приложение1). Прослушайте слова (см. Введение . п.2). (Find a transcription of the following words in the English-Russian dictionary. Say the words according to the transcription (see Application1). Listen to the words (see Introduction. item2.)

available - доступный, имеющийся в наличии

certain - некий, определенный

on-line - зависимый, подключенный к

off-line - независимый

that is why - вот почему

and so on - и так далее

public organizations - общественные организации

available means - доступные средства

certain increase of output - некое (определенное) увеличение мощности

memory access - выборка из памяти

1.2. Найдите в тексте «NETWORKS ON THE INTERNET» указанные в задании 1.1. слова. Запишите слова в контексте (см. Введение . п .1). (Find words pointed in the task 1.1. in the text «NETWORKS ON THE INTERNET». Write down the words in a context (see Introduction. item1.)

NETWORKS ON THE INTERNET

Most networks on the Internet make certain files available to other networks. These common files can be databases, programs, or electronic mail from the individuals on the network. Each of hundreds of thousands of international sites provide thousands of portions of data available to users.

It should be noted that the Internet is not the only way for computer users to communicate with each other. A number of commercial on-line services also provide connections to those who pay for it. These services provide a great range of information including on-line conferencing, electronic mail transfer, program loading, travel and entertainment information, access to encyclopedias, and other educational means and reference works, electronic forums for specific users' groups, sports fans and so on.

1.3. Прочитайте приведенные ниже слова. Обратите внимание на особенности перевода интернациональных слов (см. Введение . п . 3.). Попытайтесь перевести слова без словаря. 4.1. Прочитайте текст «NETWORKS ON THE INTERNET» (п.1.2). Подготовьте устное высказывание по теме (см. Введение . п .6). (Read the text «NETWORKS ON THE INTERNET» (item 1.2.). Prepare a report on the theme (see Introduction. item6.)

4.2. Запишите сокращенный вариант оригинального текста «NETWORKS ON THE INTERNET» (п.1.2) для устного ответа по теме «NETWORKS ON THE INTERNET», используя фразы из Приложения1).
