Give an assessment to the European framework programme (FP) of researches and technologies development.

European Union Framework Programs for the Promotion of Research and Technology or the Framework Programs, or abbreviated as FP1 - FP8 - funding programs established by the EU to support and promote research in the European Research Area. Specific goals and actions in programs vary in different financial periods.

Conducting a pan-European research policy and implementing European research programs is an obligation of the EU members under the Amsterdam Treaty, which includes a chapter on research and technological development. The need for international cooperation and the implementation of pan-European research programs is due to the fact that it is becoming increasingly difficult for the EU member states to play a leading role in many important areas of scientific and technological progress.

In 2006, it was estimated that a contribution of € 7 billion / year could cause GDP growth of € 200 billion / year in the 2030s.

In January 2014, the implementation of the EU Framework Program for Scientific Research and Innovation "Horizon 2020" (Horizon 2020) with a total budget of about 80 billion Euros for the period 2014-2020 began.

The activities of the program are aimed at achieving the objectives of the Lisbon Strategy aimed at making the European Union a knowledge-based competitive and dynamic economy in the world, as well as fulfilling the tasks of the European Development Strategy until 2020, Europe 2020 Strategy, which is a plan development and economic growth of the European Union in the long term, in which the main role in the fulfillment of the tasks set will be in the field of education, science and innovation. A course has been taken to overcome the adverse conditions that prevent the private sector from investing in research, development and innovation in order to avoid fragmentation of efforts through the creation of the European Research Area (EIP), whose objectives include the development of innovation, taking into account the main social challenges. It was decided to change the allocation of research and Innovation in Europe to increase their efficiency and optimize the stimulation of economic growth.

The Horizon 2020 program is a key tool in achieving the set goals and funding research and development for the period from 2014 to 2020, as well as in implementing the flagship initiative of the Europe 2020 strategy in the scientific and technological sphere - the creation of an Innovation Union aimed at Improving access to funding sources for research and development in Europe. The formation of such an alliance will ensure the transformation of an innovative idea into products and services and promote economic development and quality of life, taking into account social problems in the EU countries, for example, in clean energy, transport or health.

The name of the program - "Horizon 2020" - reflects the desire to ensure the development of new ideas, economic growth and jobs for the future.

Estimate research activity of the scientist using Scopus. What information can be obtained, give an example.

Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature: scientific journals, books and conference proceedings. Delivering a comprehensive overview of the world's research output in the fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts and humanities, Scopus features smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research.

As research becomes increasingly global, interdisciplinary and collaborative, you can make sure that critical research from around the world is not missed when you choose Scopus.
Based on the results of the search, the system issues various profiles of the organization. Profile - is the combined information for a particular organization, where The number of articles written by the authors of the organization is presented for profile of the organization, the options for writing the name of the organization, which are found in these articles, information on the citing of these articles, information on co-authors of articles, information on journals in which these articles and other information were published.

In advanced search:
The search results are displayed in a table format, so you can easy to view and sort by columns: Year, Document Relevance, Author (s), Source Title and Cited by .

For example: We will enter a search for the name of the scientist that we need, for example, Nill. The site will give us all the scientists with the name Nill. Together with scientists you can see the organizations of these scientists. Choose the right scientist for us. After that, a page opens where you can see the history of publication and citing in the form of a graph. In the graph, you can estimate the ratio of quoting to publications, and see the peak of the work of the scientist. In the right corner you can see the index of the hirsch of the scientist. Below the Hirsch index, you can see all the publications. Then you can see the total number citations.
