TEXT 1 ABOUT MYSELF
Hello! I am Jane. I am 21. I am a student. I consider it to be a special time in my life. Student life is always full of fun, new impressions and knowledge. I like being a student. Each day I learn something new and communicate with my friends. We meet almost every day. Sometimes we stay at the university after classes to prepare our homework for the next day or just to talk about our student life.
I like spending time with my friends. We often visit each other. I can talk with them for hours. They can help me and support me in any situation. I cansay the same about my parents, with whom I live. My
mother is a very wise woman. She understands me. We are not only close relatives, but also close friends. We have the same favourite colours — green and blue. These are the colours of nature and the sky. Our family hobby is travelling. We like seeing new places, meeting new people, exchanging our impressions. We often travel in summer and in winter. I adore Turkey, Egypt, and France. These countries have their own traditions, unique nature and culture.
My other hobbies are music and theatre. I often visit the theatre. I sympathize with the characters on the stage. I try to understand them and, finally, I find it easier to solve my own problems watching the play. I understand my family and friends better. I am grateful to them for being so close to me, for their understanding and support.
TEXT 2 ABOUT MYSELF
Let me introduce myself. My name is Mariya I am a 20-year-old student from Minsk. I study at the university in my native town and my future profession is bookkeeping. I live with my parents and my elder sister Lena. We are a friendly family. Lena is 2 years older than me. We share our

room and tell all our secrets to each other.
We are very much alike: open-hearted, smart and merry. That's why we have a lot of friends. I like organizing parties for our friends as we often gather together, discuss our plans and have fun. My hobby
is music. I play the guitar and write my own songs. They say, I have a nice voice. My family and friends often ask me to sing to guitar their favorite songs. Cooking is also my hobby. My Mom cooks very well. She has taught me how to cook a lot of delicious dishes from Ukrainian and Russian cuisine. My favorite dish is French soup, which I cook for the whole family.
In the evening, I often watch TV with my family and discuss my plans for the next day. On weekends, I often meet my friends or stay at home and read books. I like novels by Dariya Dontsova. I sometimes discuss her style and ideas with my sister. Literature, cooking, TV — I have a lot of topics to talk about and make new friends.

TEXT 3 ABOUT MYSELF
My name is Alexander. I am a student of Kostroma Technology University. I am 17 years old. I am rather tall, thin. I am well-built, to my mind. I have an oval face with a straight nose. My eyes are rather big and brown. I have long eyelashes. My lips are neither thin nor full. My hair is dark and I have a short haircut. Nowadays it‘s expensive to be smart and fashionable but I try to be well-dressed and neat. I have neither beard nor a moustache. I usually wear a pullover
and dark trousers. I was born in January. I am a Capricorn. So I am serious but I couldn‘t say for sure that I am quiet. First of all, I enjoy listening to loud music. I like merry companies and parties. As for my character, I am cheerful, honest, sociable. I have a sense of humor. I like jokes. I am well brought-up and have good manners. I don‘t respect rude, selfish and foolish people. I hate it when people lie and can‘t keep their promises. I also hate it when people interrupt others because it‘s impossible to have a talk with them. I try to deal with people who are honest, polite, disciplined, who never lie and who always help in a difficult situation. I am a sportsman. I go in for track and field. Only sport can make people healthy, active, form their characters.

TEXT4 ABOUT MYSELF
My name is Pavel. My full name is Pavel Sergeevich Slusarenko. I was born to a family of a sailor on a submarine. My family is not small. There are four of us. When I was 7, I went to school. I did well at school. I was especially good at math and geometry, but also coped with the rest of the subjects. Thus from the point of view of my progress at school I didn't cause much trouble to my parents. But I did make them worry because I used to come home rather late. The thing is I went in for swimming and our training finished at about 7 p.m. I lived far from the 
swimming-pool, so it took me quite a lot of time to get home. When at school I fell into the habit of reading a lot. At first I read everything I caughthold of but the order I grew the more definite my tastes in books became.
I took to reading historic books, books about adventures. I read many engineering books about computers and all which is connected with technology. Now I think about this, I come to the conclusion I should be grateful to my parents
for this habit: they themselves read much and encourage my reading. I am sure books will be my friends all my life. In my last year of schooling I often wondered what I would be in future, what sphere of life I should choose. After a number of heated discussions with my parents and friends I decided to dwell my choice on applied mathematics. I think I shall make a good mathematician.
