Sino-Russian College Students

Creative Cultural Products Design Competition

Creative cultural products are the perfect combination of culture and creativity, in which culture is the soul and creativity is the means. The 2021 Sino-Russian College Students Creative Cultural Products Design Competition is going to be held at Nanjing Medical University to cultivate the innovative consciousness and thinking of medical students, and promote the combination of medical knowledge and artistic emotion. The competition also aims to enhance the friendship and cultural exchange between Chinese and Russian medical students as well as showing the strength of innovative design in Chinese colleges and universities. At the same time, it will bring beautiful and useful cultural products to children, and help them understand and love medical culture to promote the spread of it. The specific notice is as follows.

I . Time

From mid-March to mid-May, 2021 (Chinese standard time)

School of International Education, Nanjing Medical University (co-organizer)

III . Entry Requirements

1. All non-graduating undergraduates and postgraduates (not including on-the-job postgraduates) majoring in medicine and related fields who are officially registered and in full-time non-adult education can participate in the competition.

2. Entries can be created by individuals or by collectives. For the collectively created works, no more than 3 students and no more than 1 instructor can be involved.

3. Entries should be recommended by related colleges or universities. The recommended works must be strictly examined, and those not meeting the requirements or having serious violations will be disqualified once verified.

IV . Competition Procedures

1. Launch Period (in mid-March, 2021): All related colleges and universities will issue the competition notice。

2. Registration Period (from mid-March to late April, 2021): Contestants are supposed to fill in the entry form and submit their design works. Then, each college or university can select 3-5 excellent works for the preliminary competition.

3. Preliminary Competition (in early May, 2021): All the works will be evaluated; outstanding works will be selected for the final competition.

4. Final Competition (in mid-May, 2021): Time for re-evaluation. The winning works will be publicized and the physical products will be made.

V. Category of Works

The works collected in this competition mainly include daily necessities, souvenirs and paintings. All the products should highlight the characteristics of medical humanities and be popular with children and suitable for them to use. All the works must be original.

VI . Submission Time and Requirements

Deadline

Chinese time: Before 24:00 on April 28th

2. Requirements:

(1) Designs should be submitted in in digital form, including at least 2 pictures in JPG or PNG formats with a resolution of no more than 300dpi. The size of a single design file should not be bigger than 20M, and the work should be displayed from all directions and angles. (Sample are as follow, and contestants are encouraged to look for a variety of original materials).

(2) The entry form (Attachment 1) and the summary sheet(Attachment 2)should be submitted, and the corresponding information should be filled in completely and accurately. The introduction of the features and implications of the works to be filled in the entry form is one of the contents for reference in the preliminary competition, and it should be limited to about 600 words.

(3) The copyright authorization statement (Attachment 3) should be printed, signed, photographed and submitted.

(4) Pictures of the work, the entry form, the summary sheet and the copyright authorization statement should be packed in the same folder and be compressed into a tar.gz (zip format). Upload the compressed package to the same folder in Baidu Netdisk, generate its extraction code with a permanent share link, and sent both the link and the code to E-mail: and sent both the link and the code to the following E-mail before 24:00 on April 28th (Chinese time):

Note: The naming pattern of both the e-mail subject and the tar.gz is: university/college name + name of the work + name of the instructor or one of the contestants’ (for example, Nanjing Medical University+ Medical Character Teacup Mat+ Zhang San). Russian students can send the compressed package directly to the above email address.

 (5) The finalists need to shoot a reply video in Chinese or English to explain the design concept and creativity of their products.

VII. Evaluation Criteria

All works submitted for the preliminary competition will be evaluated by the expert panel from School of Pediatrics, Nanjing Medical University. Excellent works will be selected for the final after comprehensive consideration of creativity, beauty, practicality and other factors.

VIII. Award Setting

All participating students will receive a certificate of participation. For excellent works entering the final, a number of first, second and third prizes will be selected according to a certain proportion, and get the award certificate.

IX . Other Instructions

1. All submitted designs will not be returned. Contestants need to keep the manuscripts and source files by themselves.

2. All entries must be original, and the copyright authorization statement must be submitted. In case of plagiarism, once verified, the qualification will be cancelled, and awards and prizes will be withdrawn. Contestants shall bear all the legal liabilities arising therefrom.

3. The organizer, School of Pediatrics, Nanjing Medical University, reserves the right of final interpretation of the event. The organizer has the right to adjust the number of awards, cancel or add awards according to the competition situation. The organizing committee has the right to display the above works and related explanatory texts written by the designers,The works and related explanatory texts will not be used for any commercial purposes..
