Тема: Нервная система
1. Актуальность темы:
Знание иностранного языка необходимо на данном этапе развития общества. Изучение студентами тематической лексики и применения ее в различных видах речевой деятельности не только распространяет кругозор студентов, но и дает возможность понимать специальные тексты, вести разговор на бытовом уровне.
2. Цели занятия:
Учебные цели . Знать: лексический материал по теме; грамматический материал: предлоги. Студенты должны уметь правильно использовать предлоги в предложениях; произносить новый лексический материал; читать и переводить текст; составлять правильно высказывания по теме, используя активную лексику занятия и ранее изученный грамматический материал.
Воспитательные цели: воспитывать у студентов терпение, работоспособность, толерантность, стремление помочь больному, придерживаясь всех этичных вопросов, культуру общения, чувство уважения к разным точкам зрения, чувства такта.
Развивающие цели: способствовать развитию критического мышления, развивать коммуникативные компетенции учащихся, их интеллектуальные способности, память и наблюдательность, навыки поиска новой информации, умения высказывать свое мнение и обосновывать его, вскрывать неверные утверждения и спокойно приводить контрдоводы. Способствовать развитию навыков самоорганизации, правильного распределения времени.

The nervous system is a biological system containing a network of specialized cells called neurons that coordinate the actions and transmit signals between different parts of its body. The nervous system consists of two parts, central and peripheral. The central nervous system is divided into two major parts: the brain and the spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system consists of sensory neurons, clusters of neurons called ganglia, and nerves connecting them to each other and to the central nervous system.

The brain
The brain lies within the skull and is shaped like a mushroom. The brain consists of four principal parts:
1) the brain stem;
2) the cerebrum;
3) the cerebellum;
4) the diencephalon.
The brain weighs approximately 1.3 to 1.4 kg. It has nerve cells called the neurons and supporting cells called the glia. There are two types of matter in the brain: grey matter and white matter. Grey matter receives and stores impulses. Cell bodies of neurons and neuroglia are in the grey matter. White matter in the brain carries impulses to and from grey matter. It consists of the nerve fibers (axons).
The brain stem
The brain stem is also known as the Medulla oblongata. It is located between the pons and the spinal cord and is only about one inch long.
The cerebrum
The cerebrum forms the bulk of the brain and is supported on the brain stem. The cerebrum is divided into two hemispheres. Each hemisphere controls the activities of the side of the body opposite that hemisphere.
The hemispheres are further divided into four lobes:
1) Frontal lobe;
2) Temporal lobe;
3) Parietal lobe;
4) Occipital lobe.
The cerebellum
This is located behind and below the cerebrum.
The diencephalon
The diencephalon is also known as the fore brain stem. It includes the thalamus and hypothalamus. The thalamus is where sensory and other impulses go and coalesce. The hypothalamus is a smaller part of the diencephalon.
The spinal cord
The spinal cord is a long tube like structure which extends from the brain. The spinal cord is composed of a series of 31 segments. Both motor and sensory nerves are located in the spinal cord. The spinal cord is about 43 cm long in adult women and 45 cm long in adult men and weighs about 35–40 grams.
