Let me introduce myself. I’m Tanya, t-a-n-y-a. My last name’s Titova, T-i-t-o-v-a.

I’m 18. I was born on the 29th of March 1994 in Nab. Chelny.

My parents and I are from Tatarstan originally. I grew up in Nab. Chelny too.

I started school number 15 when I was 7. Last year I passed exams and entered the Kama state academy of engineering and economics. Now I’m a first-year student of economics faculty, specializing in accounting. I’m Russian, my first language is Russian.

About myself

Hello! My name’s Titova Tanya. I was born on the 29th of March 1994 under the zodiac sign of Aries. I believe that stars influence our fate. They say that Aries is full of energy, talented, ambitious and frank. Partially it’s true. Actually I’m friendly, funny and smart. Sometimes I’m serious and hard-working. As to my appearance, I’m not tall, slim and good-looking. My favourite colours are yellow and green. I like to wear sneakers, jeans and a T-shirt. I like to sleep late, to listen to hip-hop style music. I don’t like to clean the house and rude greedy people.

Weather

There are 4 seasons in a year: winter, spring, summer and fall. Winter is the coldest season and summer is the warmest season of a year. It often snows in winter. I like skiing and skating.

In spring it is warm and sunny and we enjoy first grass and flowers. In summer it’s sunny hot and humid. There is a lot of fruit, berries and vegetables. Fall comes after summer with cloudy rainy and windy weather. The leaves fall down from the trees. I think all seasons are beautiful.

My hometown (My working day)

My hometown is N.Chelny. I live with my parents and elder brother in the suburbs. They drive to work downtown every weekday and take me with them. On Saturday I have to take the bus.

My classes at the Academy usually start at 8, so I get up at 6.30a.m., have a shower, eat breakfast and leave the house. Around 1 o’clock during the break, I have lunch at student’s canteen. In the evening I often stay home and study until midnight. Sometimes I watch TV or surf the net.

On Saturday nights I take a walk and stay out late. On Sundays I sleep till noon. On weekends I always clean the house and go shopping.

My apartment

I live in nine-storeyed building with an elevator in the 58th block of houses. We have a new apartment on the third floor. It has a bathroom, a kitchen, a bedroom and a living room. Our apartment has a view of a big City Mall. Our apartment is nice and cozy. My favourite room is my bedroom. It’s “my private study”. There is a desk, an armchair, a bookcase and a computer in it. I also have a bed, of course. It’s the room, where I meet my friends, use the computer, listen to music, relax and sleep.

 

Meals

At weekends our family has a delicious Japanese-style dinner. We usually have fish, rice and a cabbage soup. We always have green tea without sugar. I care about my body and prefer healthy food. Here are some pieces of advice for a living a long life:1. Get up early, have a good breakfast and eat porridge, half a banana and eggs with cheese. 2. Exercise and walk every day.3.Eat a lot of vegetables, especially garlic. It’s good for your health. 4. Don’t eat a lot of salt and fat, drink a lot of juice.5. Don’t eat desserts.6. Don’t get married and Don’t listen to the doctors, because they don’t know what to do with you. (joke).

My Chores

On week days I usually get up nearly six o'clock. I do not like to get up early, but I have to, because I have a lot of work to do during the day. I make my bed, wash my face, put my clothes on and go to the kitchen to have breakfast. My mother usually prepares breakfast for me, but sometimes I do it myself. I prefer a cup of coffee and a sandwich.

Then I go to the Academy. It is rather far from my house and I go there by bus. I have classes till two or three o'clock, it depends on a week day. Then I come home and have dinner. I like a big dinner, because when I come home I am hungry.

After my dinner, I have a rest for a couple hours and then I do my homework. If I have some spare time I do some work about the house. I sweep the floor, wash up, do the laundry, dust the furniture and clean the carpets with the vacuum-cleaner. Sometimes my mother asks me to go shopping.

SUMMER AND WINTER SPORTS

People all over the world are very fond of sports and games.

The most popular outdoor winter sports are hockey, skating, skiing and tobogganing. It's so nice to go to the skating-rink on a frosty sunny day. Some people prefer to be out of town in such weather and to sledge or to ski in the woods. Many people greatly enjoy ski- jumping.

Summer affords excellent opportunities for swimming, boating, cycling, and many other sports. Among outdoor games football takes the first place in public interests. The other games cricket, volley-ball, basket-ball and badminton are also very popular both with young and old.

All the year round many people indulge in boxing, wrestling, gymnastics and track and field events. Over the last few years aerobics has become popular with young girls and women. Aerobics helps them to be slim, healthy and strong. Among indoor games which one can go in for all the year round are billiards, table tennis, draughts, chess, of course.

 

Sport and a healthy way of life

Sport is very important in our life. It is popular among young and old people. Many people do morning exercises, jog in the morning and train themselves in clubs, in different sections and take part in sport competitions. Other people like sports too, but they only watch sports games, listen to sports news. They prefer reading interesting stories about sportsmen. But they don't go in for sports. Physical training is an important subject at school. Boys and girls play volley-ball and basketball at the lessons. There is the sports ground near our school and schoolchildren go in for sports in the open air. A lot of different competition are held at schools, a great number of pupils take part in them. All participants try to get good results and become winners. Sport helps people to keep in good health. If you go in for sports you have good health and don't catch cold. Children and grown-ups must take care of their health and do morning exercises regularly. There are some popular kinds of sports in our country: football, volley ball, hockey, gymnastics, skiing, skating. Athletics is one of the most popular kinds of sports. It includes such kinds of sports as: running, jumping and others. Everybody may choose the sport he (or she) is interested in. There are summer and winter sports. My favourite sport is swimming. I go to the swimming-pool twice a week, but I prefer to rest by the lake or the river and swim there. My friend Kostya goes in for boxing. He is a good boxer and he is a brave and courageous boy. His hobby helps him in his every day life.

 

HEALTHY FOOD

All food is made up of nutrients which our bodies use. There are different kinds of nutrients: carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. Different foods contain different nutri­ents.

The biggest problem comes when fat, sugar and salt are in other foods: biscuits, crisps, sausages, meat pies, soft drinks. The best way is to get into the habit of checking the ingredients and nutritional value on the sides of packets. Another thing to know is that there are fats that are good for us and fats that are bad for us. Eating less of the bad ones and more of the good ones can help us to live longer! Bad fats are found in animal productions, like red meat, butter and cheese. Friendly fats are naturally in foods like nuts and seeds, olives, avocados and oily fish, including tuna. One more thing to know is that when food is cooked, its structure changes.
